Mutlu Ergün-Hamaz is a PhD. candidate at the London School of Economics, Sociology Department and currently lives in Berlin as parent, author, consultant, performer, trainer and social researcher. Since 2001, Ergün-Hamaz has been a member of the anti-racist NGO Phoenix e.V., working there as a White-Awareness and Empowerment trainer. His research interests are racialisation and empowerment in Germany. In 2010 his political-satirical novel “Kara Günlük - Die geheimen Tagebücher des Sesperado” (“The Secret Diaries of Sesperado”) was published. In 2016-2017 a stage adaption of the book “Sesperado - Revolution of Color” was performed at the Ballhaus Naunynstraße and at the Berliner Festspiele.
