Luigi Fassi is the Artistic Director at MAN Contemporary Art Museum in Nuoro, Italy. From 2012 to 2017 he held the position of Visual Art Curator at the Steirischer Herbst Festival in Graz, Austria, where he curated several exhibitions and public art projects by commissioning new works by artists such as Lothar Baumgarten, Peter Friedl, Jonathas De Andrade, Lawrence Abu Hamdan, Rana Hamadeh, Maryam Jafri, Kiluanj Kia Henda, and others. From 2009 to 2012 he was the Director of Ar/ge kunst Kunstverein in Bolzano, Italy, where he organised several group and solo exhibitions including Runo Lagomarsino, Chto Delat?, William E. Jones, Eva Kotatkova, and Alejandro Cesarco. A Helena Rubinstein Curatorial Fellow on the Whitney Museum ISP (2008–09), Fassi organised the "Present Future" section at Artissima, Turin, Italy, from 2010 to 2016. In 2016 he was a fellow of the Artis Research Trip Program in Tel Aviv and curator of the XVI Quadriennale in Rome, Italy. In 2017 he was invited to put forward nominations for the Prince Claus Award in Amsterdam, Netherlands, while from 2016 to 2018 he was a curatorial committee member for Alserkal Avenue in Dubai, UAE. He is currently an artistic committee member for Art-O-Rama contemporary art fair in Marseille, France, and co-curator (with Nkule Mabaso) of Tomorrows/Today at Cape Town art fair in Cape Town, South Africa. Fassi has written numerous essays for Artforum, Flash Art, Camera Austria, Mousse Magazine, and Domus.
