Alexander Sasha Tarakhovsky is a Professor and Head of the Laboratory at the Rockefeller University in Manhattan, New York. Before moving to New York in 2001, Alexander was a Professor at the Institute for Genetics, University in Cologne, Germany and he has received the title while being officially stateless former citizen of the USSR. Much of the Alexander’s scientific interest is in the field of the epigenetics, a branch of science that studies mechanism that control gene behavior and inheritance of the newly acquired features. Besides science, Alexander is interested in art and has presented his project “Epigenetic Reset” at the Documenta 12. He also writes fiction and has been published several of his works with Fiktion, Solution Series as well as other magazines.
